Date october 26th

Interview by Carson Kropfl

"My name is Cody Kessler. I go by Wheezle. I’m an artist, born and raised out of Huntington. I love what I do."

Q: How did you get into art?

I broke my leg in an amateur supercross race in 2019 and sat on the couch, couldn’t do anything. So I got into digital design work. All my homies were making music so I’m like, dude, I’ll make you some album artwork. That’s kind of how I got into it, making album artwork for my homies’ SoundCloud stuff. So blending the two, artwork and Moto together, it’s cool. I love it. I can’t see myself doing anything else.

Q: Who are your biggest artistic influences?

Terry Urban was a huge one for me. I used to listen to a lot of Lil Peep back in 2017 and 2018, and I saw that Terry painted his jacket for Peep, I’m like this guy’s awesome. Anything race inspired like Race Service, I love all their artwork. Mikey Ojeda with Bleach Design Works. I just love tattoo style, that’s why I’ll be painting tires and helmets. I just want to paint the world, paint everything. Paint your hat, paint shoes, paint the pipe on your bike.
